Can I install through Chrome?

Kobo Libra 2 has an existing WebUSB installer. For reMarkables, Chrome works with a small local installer that connects over USB networking. Apple silicon Mac installers are signed and notarized. Linux is supported across all four devices, with Paper Pure on Arch Linux and Chromium as the physical reference test. Windows physical host testing is next. reMarkable stock firmware 3.28.0.172 is required.

Will my documents stay safe?

Back up first. Installation modifies device software and can fail. Do not rely on an installer as your only copy of your library, notes or other documents.

Kobo Libra 2: an OS replacement

InkHub replaces Kobo’s original operating system, rather than adding a second boot option. To return to the original software, tap “Go back to Kobo” in InkHub Settings and follow the restore steps. Back up your books and settings first.

reMarkable: two experiences, one device

InkHub is a dual-boot installation alongside the original reMarkable software. Enjoy InkHub’s reading and apps, then return to reMarkable’s outstanding note-taking and drawing experience: in InkHub Settings, choose Restart, then Restart into reMarkable. This starts the original software for one boot without uninstalling InkHub. InkHub remains the default.

Do I give this website my device password?

No. Enter it only in the local installer on your computer. Device credentials stay on your computer and are not sent to inkhub.dev.

Can I use a third-party page turner?

On Kobo Libra 2, pair a compatible Bluetooth HID remote from Settings, Bluetooth connection. InkHub Reader recognises Page Up/Down, arrow and volume keys, plus Space and Enter. A remote can connect while Reader is open.

Compatibility depends on the remote’s pairing method and key output. Individual physical models are not yet listed as tested. The reMarkable builds do not provide Bluetooth pairing. If you try a remote, share its model and results in a GitHub issue.

How does InkHub manage power?

InkHub reduces unnecessary work through optimised rendering, automatic sleep and power-off settings, and controls for idle wireless connections. On Kobo Libra 2, Bluetooth audio can work with Wi-Fi switched off. Available controls depend on the device.

Battery life depends on your device, battery condition, frontlight, wireless use and apps.

Can I request a new app or feature?

Yes. Tell us what you would like to do, which device you use and why it would be useful. Ideas can be for new apps, reading improvements, accessibility or everyday conveniences. Search existing requests first, then add your suggestion to a GitHub issue or discuss it with the community at r/InkHub. Requests help guide development; they do not guarantee a feature or delivery date.

Help and bug reports

Open a GitHub issue for a bug, installation question or feature request. Include your device model, InkHub version and what happened. Keep passwords and personal documents out of public reports.

What does a purchase include?

Your one-off payment covers the hosted installation and future InkHub software updates installed seamlessly over Wi-Fi (OTA), with no separate update installation charge for your device. This is not a subscription or a paid support package. Help is available through r/InkHub or Reddit messages, without a guaranteed response time. Supported firmware and applicable cancellation rights are displayed before payment. The independent hosted installation infrastructure is proprietary; the device software retains its open-source licences.

Use the installation page for your exact device. Kobo’s Try only and Install choices now share one page. The separate experimental session page redirects there. Do not use a different model’s payload or bypass a failed check.
