Dual boot

Keep both experiences on one device: InkHub for reading and apps, and reMarkable’s original software for its outstanding note-taking and drawing. In InkHub Settings, choose Restart, then Restart into reMarkable. This is a one-boot choice; InkHub remains the default.

Control stock updates

In InkHub, open Settings → Software update → Block reMarkable OS updates. Your choice takes effect after restarting, including when you boot into reMarkable. InkHub updates stay available.

Blocking stock updates also postpones reMarkable feature and security fixes. Turn the setting off and restart to allow them again. A reMarkable firmware update may require reinstalling InkHub. Your reMarkable notebooks remain separate from your InkHub books.

  1. Confirm the exact model

    Read the model name in your device’s settings. A USB connection alone does not prove compatibility.

  2. Back up your documents

    Keep a separate copy on your computer. The installer checks the release and device before making changes.

  3. Keep a way back

    Read the model-specific recovery steps before installing. Keep the cable connected during the operation.

  1. Download installer

    Open it on your computer and connect only the reMarkable you want to use.

  2. Pair

    Enter the device password in the local installer, then paste its pairing code here.

  3. Try InkHub for 10 minutes

    The trial returns to reMarkable automatically unless you choose Install InkHub before it expires. You can also return to reMarkable at any time.

  4. Install InkHub

    Keep InkHub as your default, with reMarkable available from Settings.

Try InkHub, then install

Pair with the installer for your device. It checks whether this is a fresh stock installation or an update before anything is changed.

The 10-minute trial is free. To install permanently, sign in and use your confirmed free place or purchase for this model.

Try runs InkHub temporarily from a separate folder on your reMarkable’s internal storage. Stock startup and notebooks stay unchanged. Return, a restart, or the ten-minute trial timeout takes you back to reMarkable. Trial files are kept on the device; choose Install to make InkHub the default.

Paste the code within five minutes of opening the helper. It is used once to connect this browser, not again to install. The InkHub trial lasts 10 minutes. Keep the helper open; reopening this page in the same browser resumes a saved connection. If Chrome asks to access other apps and services on this device, choose Allow so this page can reach your local installer. Your device password stays in the app.
